Hiba Bushra is a sophomore at Boston University, pursuing a double major in Political Science and Economics. She is originally Sudanese but was born in Syria and raised in Indonesia. Hiba’s involvement includes work with AFG, an organization dedicated to reforming American K-12 education for Black and Latinx students, and APAPA, which focuses on expanding the legal and political system in America to more adequately represent Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. She also currently serves as Secretary at Boston University’s UNICEF organization. Having personally experienced the effects of inadequate institutions and economic policies, Hiba aspires to focus on developmental economics as well as state and institution-building policies, both in her undergraduate and post-graduate plans. Hiba believes UNAGB will be a significant addition to her career, enhancing her research skills and experience in tackling global issues.
