Jaewon Yeo is a junior at Boston College majoring in Biology and Global Public Health and the Common Good. During high school, Jaewon became interested in the impact of air pollution on human health and, under the guidance of her mentor, designed two research projects. During her time at Boston College, her interests expanded to other sectors of public health, particularly the influence of international affairs on the health outcomes of different communities. Motivated by her classes, she joined the Model UN team during her sophomore year and participated in national-level conferences. Additionally, inspired by her previous volunteering experience as a teaching assistant, Jaewon began interning at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation through Boston College’s Public Health Club and developed educational materials on drug abuse and addiction for high school students. She currently serves as the co-Advocacy Leader for Boston College’s Partners in Health Engage chapter, where she organizes letter-writing and phone-calling events advocating to Congress for the End Tuberculosis Now Act of 2024. Jaewon is excited to join UNAGB as an Education Intern and use her skills and knowledge to inspire young people to engage with pressing global issues.
