Event Details

Middle School Model United Nations (MSMUN), held in partnership with the Northeastern University Model UN team and International Relations Council, is UNAGB’s largest MUN conference of the year. Last year we welcomed over 400 students to participate in our MUN conference!

This is a traditional General Assembly style conference in which students receive a committee and country assignment on September 20, 2021. Students spend the months prior to the conference research, learning, and preparing their position papers and opening speeches.

Below is a brief Q & A to help you learn a little more about the event:

When will registration open for MSMUN? Registration will open for MSMUN on September 1, 2021.

Is this a middle or high school conference? This conference is open to open to students in grades 6, 7, and 8.

Will students participate in pairs? Advisors should work with their students to determine this. Our recommendation for online conferences is single delegates but we will allow pairs should you decide that is the best option for your students! Groups of three will not be permitted.

When will delegates find out their countries? Advisors will receive country and committee assignments for their delegation 2 months prior to the conference.

Are there position papers? Yes – please stay tuned for more on this. Position papers should be submitted two weeks prior to the conference to allow our team of chairs ample time to thoughtfully read through them all.

Will this conference take place online? Yes – this conference will be held virtually using Zoom.

My school doesn’t have a Model UN team, but I’d like to attend…are independent teams invited? Yes! Independent teams and independent delegates are welcome to attend. Parent advisors welcome!

What is the cost of registration? The cost of attendance is $55/delegate. If you attend a Title 1 qualifying school you may request a reduced delegate fee of $20/delegate.

What is the refund policy? Delegate fees may be refunded until a week before the event.
