Shiqian is a rising senior at Tufts University studying Child Study and Human Development and International Relations with a focus on globalization. She grew up in China and attended Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific in Canada before she came to Tufts. Through her study abroad experiences, Shiqian became interested in children’s identity development and young women’s empowerment in a global context. Shiqian is involved with transnational adoption research and a mentoring program promoting girls’ leadership. She enjoys working with children and teens across different age ranges and is passionate about cultivating a global citizenship perspective in youth through education. Shiqian is excited to be a part of the UNAGB Education Department Internship Program and looks forward to creating unforgettable memories collaborating with students this summer.
