John is from Massapequa, New York and is a Senior at Emmanuel College. His major is International Relations with a concentration in Diplomacy & Security with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. John is currently serving as an Educational Intern for the United Nations Association of Greater Boston. In this role, John is responsible for researching and writing topic guides focusing on issues such as human rights, international security and the environment. John was not exposed to international issues during his primary and secondary education. Due to this, he is extremely passionate about helping aid in the creation of a world where everyone is able to have a voice and be a presence. John specifically focuses on women’s rights and aiding the less fortunate in the global community, and believes that gaining a proper education will be the stepping stone to alleviate major global issues.
Besides John’s love for the global development of the world, he is also heavily involved in his institution. He is a member of the Emmanuel College Men’s Volleyball team, where he has been a two year captain for the program. He has also been apart of numerous leadership roundtables on Emmanuel’s campus. John aspires to work in the non-profit sector with organizations that focus on the enhancement of society for women and ethinic minority groups.
