She is originally from Southbury, Connecticut; a small town where she discovered her passions for equitable access to education and environmental conservation. Isabella started her teaching career as a Democracy Coach at Generation Citizen, later acting as a liaison between union representatives at the Boston Teachers Union, and eventually conducting policy research at the Wheelock Education Policy Center. She currently serves on the Board of the Boston Climate Action Network, promoting local policies to combat climate change and housing injustice.
