Fiona completed her BA and MA at University College Dublin, Ireland and her PhD (EU Foreign Policy coordination at the United Nations) at University College Cork, which included a two-year visiting scholar position at Yale University.
She also worked as a Policy Analyst at the EU Delegation to the United Nations from 2000 – 2001. She was an Assistant Professor at University College Cork teaching international relations, european studies and political research methodology. Post PhD, Fiona published chapters of her doctorate in several European academic journals before moving to the UK where academic life was replaced by the entrepreneurial opportunity of running her own business – an online retail venture importing US maternity and baby brands to the UK and Ireland. The business moved from the Oxford, UK to Dublin, Ireland and was sold in 2010 prior to a move back to the United States. Prior to UNAGB, Fiona was an adjunct professor at Bridgewater State University. Married to a Canadian, Fiona lives on the South Shore with her four children.
