Emma is a former educator who is passionate about building students’ capacity to think critically about complex global issues. Before joining the UNAGB team at the Education Director in 2021, Emma taught middle and high school social studies and served as a Dean of Curriculum and Instruction in Lawrence. As a teacher, Emma worked to increase opportunities for civic learning and agency in her classroom. Emma taught Model UN in her World History course and led a Model UN enrichment class. During her time as an administrator, Emma partnered with UNAGB to build a robust Model United Nations Program at the high school level in which all students participated in school-wide conferences. Emma is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she earned a B.A. in Political Science and a M.A. in Secondary Education. In 2017, Emma completed a year-long teacher leadership fellowship with the National Academy of Advanced Teacher Education.
