IN-DEPTH CONFERENCES
As part of the UN's goal to develop relationships with the business and professional communities, UNA-GB holds conferences on timely international topics. The conferences bring together experts from the public and private sector as well as from the international system, NGOs, and local organizations in the field, for a one-day program of keynote presentations and panel discussions with question-and-answer periods for attendees to participate in the dialogue. The conference findings are summarized in a Conference Report which is presented to appropriate government and international organization entities.
In 2001, UNA-GB organized its first conference on an issue of critical UN and international concern, entitled “Reaching Across the Digital Divide.” Since then, UNA-GB has hosted numerous conferences addressing many of the UN’s Millennium Development Goals, among other issues on the world agenda.
