For over 60 years, UNA-GB has brought insightful global affairs programs to Boston-area participants, now numbering over 5,000 annually.We organize more than two dozen community events each year, from luncheon presentations to networking nights to UN Day celebrations and an international gala with local diplomats and leaders.
Our Model UN Program serves thousands of Massachusetts youth each year. We reached more than 2,300 students in almost 100 schools in both inner-city Boston and surrounding districts in the 2011-2012 academic year (see more details about the impact on students below).
We partner effectively with dozens of organizations and groups across diverse sectors in Boston, including local and national non-profits, NGOs, academic institutions, associations, companies and many more to work towards localizing the global ideals we all share.
Specific Impact of Model UN in the Classroom:
UNA-GB offers a variety of programming to ensure that rigorous opportunities in global education are made available to all students. We offer the following:
· Model UN Conferences: almost 1,000 students served in 80 schools
· Student Workshops and Mini-Simulations: over 300 students per year
· Professional Development Seminars: 4 per year serving over 50 teachers annually
· Classroom Consultation and Site Visits: 1,000 students served in 40 schools
Expanding access to Model UN programs requires a significant investment in classroom-based instruction. The development of high-quality, classroom-friendly materials is our specialty and we are growing our capacity every year.
