UNA-GB relies on the support from individuals like you. In fact, more than a third of our support comes from private individuals. Your generosity allows us to engage many groups in global dialogue, including leaders from the business, professional and academic communities, as well as school students, college students, young professionals and private individuals. So thank you!
To maintain and improve our level of programming, we look to you for your support.
IN OUR SCHOOLS
The Greater Boston area is no exception to the achievement gap between the academic performance of economically disadvantaged students in urban areas and their more affluent suburban peers. Model UN is one tool that is utilized in bridging the gap in our community.

MODEL UN
In Model UN, students step into the shoes of UN Ambassadors from UN member states to debate current issues on the organization's agenda. Students make speeches, prepare draft resolutions, negotiate with allies and adversaries, resolve conflicts, and navigate the conference rules of procedure - all in the interest of mobilizing "international cooperation" to resolve problems that affect countries all over the world. Model UN provides valuable learning experiences that not all students have the same accessibility to.
Our Model UN program actively works make this innovative program available to ALL students regardless of socioeconomic status. In the past year, over 2,000 students have participated, including 1,000 from Boston-area public schools. More Boston pu blic school students deserve the opportunities that Model UN can provide, and by donating, you help give students this opportunity.
Your support can make a lasting difference in the life of a young “urban diplomat.”
IN OUR COMMUNITY
The UN's most impressive and vital work rarely makes the headlines. Did you know that the UN feeds 20 million children at school every day, assists 19 million refugees, fights climate change, and is currently operating 17 peacekeeping missions around the world?
As the UN continues its work for peace, security and prosperity in the world, a constructive US role is essential. UNA-GB is a voice for the UN here in the Greater Boston area, providing education about the UN and world affairs, and engaging members of our community in a dialogue about the United States role at the UN.
Your support allows us to carry out these programs for the public:
- Regular panels and discussions on the UN and world affairs
- Powerful film screenings connecting viewers to humanity and issues of global concerns
- Young professionals meetings and events
- UN Day Celebrations at the State House
And so much more. Learn about all of our community programs here.
Of our more than 2 dozen programs for the public last year, over half were free of charge. Please help us continue this work in support of the UN and greater engagement in world affairs.
